What are archived posts?
The listserv has archives that include all postings of every email that have been sent through the listserv since it began in January 2020. All current members have access to this listserv archives at any time.
Since all messages posted are saved, this allows members to come back at any time to search for past posts and topics that may have been deleted in their personal email accounts. Now members can find the original email post(s) quickly and easily. The “archives” are not labeled as archives, but are labled “messages” that date back to the beginning of the group. Therefore, they create an archive.
Do I have access to the old OREGON COUNSELORS archives if I was a previous member?
The archives from the previous OREGON COUNSELORS listserv on googlegroups have been deleted because of their age and were no longer being accessed.
How can posts be typed so they can be searchable in the archives?
For members who type up new posts, it will be important to add a line at the bottom of the email to make the post searchable in the future, so all the words in the email are found in a search.
For example:
For posts for continuing education offerings, the bottom line of the email could include some of these key words:
continuing education, CEU’s, CE, ethics, cultural competency, date, date range, workshops, online, training
Adding key words at the bottom of a post will help facilitate quick and easy archive searches. It may also be helpful to add to the post that the offering is viewable on the archives, so others are reminded to come back and search for it.
How to view the archives?
The archives are viewable once you log in to your gaggle.email account.
Look for to the “Messages” page and this is where all messages have been archived.
At the top of the screen is the search bar.

Why no repeated postings for solicitation of fee based services?
The listserv was selected is because it has a searchable archive. Once something is posted, it stays! Therefore, there is no need to repost the same email or offering, because it remains viewable in the archives. If a member has posted to the listserv, it only needs to be done once, unless there are updates to the posting. Again, this is because everything that posted is viewable at any time. This is a policy to curb repeated postings of the same thing, because we have the archives for members to search for what they are looking for. Repeated postings are okay if there are changes to past posts.
May I make repeated posts where there is no response?
Repeating a post in search of a client referral due to lack of a response is okay. Repeating a post for a no fee consult group, or similar types of posts where there has not been any response is also okay.

Client referrals are frequently shared on the listserv. It is our responsibility to keep the information to a minimum to protect clients. Referrals should be treated in the following manner: Referrals should be limited to minimum details about the need and should never include any protected health information. Do not copy and paste what a client states, or forward their email to the listserv, even with client permission. Keep the subject line succinct so other members can decide quickly if they are a potential fit. For example: ISO Male Therapist for Teen, West Side, BCBS
Reply only to the person sending the referral. Only reply to referrals if you meet the requested criteria.

Please be mindful of the email address used when making a post to the listserv. The only email address members are able to post with is the one used to sign up. If the listserv does not recognize an email address in the system, it will bounce.
