Rules of Use

Thank you for being part of the Oregon Counselors & Therapists listserv community. To ensure the best possible experience for all members, we have established some basic guidelines for participation.

By using the listserv, you agree that you have read and will follow these guidelines. Please take a moment to acquaint yourself with them. If you have questions, contact the Listserv Owner.

In order to preserve a climate that encourages both civil and fruitful dialogue, the listserv reserves the right to suspend or terminate membership for members who violate these terms. If you do not accept these guidelines, please unsubscribe from the list by following the directions in the footer of any listserv message.

THE RULES
Messages on the listserv should be collaborative.  Do not challenge or attack others. The discussions on the list are meant to stimulate conversation, not to create contention.

Use caution when sending new listserv messages. Information posted on the list is available for all to see, and comments are subject to libel, slander, and antitrust laws.

Do not post commercial messages on the listserv. Contact people directly with product and service information if you believe it would help them.

All defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive, or illegal materials or language are strictly prohibited. Do not post anything in the listserv you would not want the world to see, or that you would not want anyone to know came from you.

Please note carefully all items listed in the disclaimer and legal rules below, particularly regarding the copyright ownership of information posted to the list.

Remember that the listserv and other e-mail list members have the right to reproduce postings to this listserv.

Do not distribute any SPAM, solicitation, jokes, petitions for signatures or letters relating to pyramid schemes, missing persons or once-in-a-lifetime deals.

Do not use the listserv to invite the entire list to join your social network (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Linkedin, etc) or to visit your blog, podcast, or internet site.

LISTSERV ETIQUETTE
Include a signature on all messages. Include your name, credentials, supervisor if intern status, location, phone number, website and email if applicable.

State concisely and clearly the topic of your comments in the subject line. This allows members to respond more appropriately to your posting and makes it easier for members to search the archives in the listserv site.

Only send a reply message to the sender, and keep in mind that the listserv has hundreds of providers who do not need to see all replies not relevant to them.

Send messages such as “thanks for the information” or “me, too” to individuals–not to the entire list.  Do not send administrative messages, such as “remove me from the list”, through the listserv.  To unsubscribe from the list, please follow the directions in the footer of any listserv message.

DISCLAIMER AND LEGAL
THE LISTSERV AND ITS OWNER AND AFFILIATES ACCEPT NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE OPINIONS AND INFORMATION POSTED ON THIS SITE BY OTHERS. THE LISTSERV DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES WITH REGARD TO INFORMATION POSTED ON THIS SITE, WHETHER POSTED BY THE LISTSERV OR ANY THIRD PARTY. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE LISTSERV BE LIABLE FOR ANY SPECIAL, INDIRECT, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OR ANY DAMAGES WHATSOEVER RESULTING FROM LOSS OF USE, DATA, OR PROFITS, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE USE OR PERFORMANCE OF ANY INFORMATION POSTED ON THIS SITE.

Do not post any defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive, or illegal materials. Do not post any information or other material protected by copyright without the permission of the copyright owner. By posting material, the posting party warrants and represents that he or she owns the copyright with respect to such material or has received permission from the copyright owner. In addition, the posting party grants the listserv and users of this list the nonexclusive right and license to display, copy, publish, distribute, transmit, print, and use such information or other material.

Messages should not be posted if they encourage or facilitate members to arrive at any agreement that either expressly or implicitly leads to price fixing, a boycott of another’s business, or other conduct intended to illegally restrict free trade. Messages that encourage or facilitate an agreement about the following subjects are inappropriate: prices, discounts, or terms or conditions of sale; salaries; profits, profit margins, or cost data; market shares, sales territories, or markets; allocation of customers or territories; or selection, rejection, or termination of customers or suppliers.

By using this listserv, members agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the listserv, its owner and affiliates, from and against all losses, claims, demands, causes of action, liabilities, expenses, including reasonable attorney’s fees and costs arising from any claims arising out of or resulting from any breach of these guidelines by the user or any omission or act taken by the user.

The listserv does not fully and actively monitor the site for inappropriate postings due to the volume of posts. There is an attempt to review posts, but not all can be screened. However, in the event that any inappropriate posting is brought to the attention of listserv owner and/or moderator, the listserv reserves the right to take all appropriate action in response. The listserv reserves the right to terminate access to any user who does not abide by these guidelines. This includes forfeiture or reimbursement of annual fees, depending on the issue.
